The short version
We only collect what we need to show and save your results. If you give us your email, we use it to send your numbers and the occasional plain-English update. We never sell your data, there are no sales calls, and you can unsubscribe anytime with one click.
Earned & Kept ("we", "us") runs this website and the free retirement gap calculator at earnedandkept.com. This page explains, in plain English, what information we collect, why, and what choices you have.
What we collect
- The numbers you enter in the calculator (your age, current savings, and income). We use these to work out your retirement gap and your monthly savings target.
- Your email address, only if you choose to give it. You can see your full result without entering anything. Email is optional, and only used if you want your results saved and sent to you.
- Basic, anonymous usage information (such as which pages were visited, rough location by country or region, and device type), collected through Google Analytics to help us understand how the site is used.
How we use it
- To calculate and show your results, and to email them to you if you ask.
- To send occasional, plain-English emails from Earned & Kept. No spam, no sales calls. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
- To understand how the site is used so we can make it better.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the site. They only handle your information to provide their service to us:
- Supabase stores your calculator result securely.
- Resend sends you the email with your results.
- Kit (ConvertKit) manages our email list so we can send you updates and you can unsubscribe.
- Google Analytics gives us anonymous usage statistics.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics, which sets cookies to measure how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's opt-out browser add-on. The calculator works fine either way.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe anytime. Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe link.
- Ask us to delete your data. Email us and we will remove your information from our records.
- Skip email entirely. You are never required to give an email to use the calculator.
Children
This site is meant for adults planning for retirement. It is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we will change the "last updated" date at the top. Significant changes will be made clear on this page.
